Before you start

• Upload songs to your Music Library and mark them Music. Mark station IDs and jingles as Station ID or Jingle, and sweepers as Sweeper.
• Solo shows: go live once from the studio so your show has its web address.
• Stations: set up the live input (your server address and password) on the Station page. Only station admins can change AutoDJ.

Turn it on

1. Open AutoDJ from the studio's Show panel, the Station page or the Library.
2. Pick your show or station, then switch AutoDJ on. It starts within about a minute.

During early access each account can run one AutoDJ.

Rotation rules

• Shuffle all music, or only the songs you tick in My AutoDJ playlist.
• No repeat of the same song within a number of hours (default 3), or the same artist within a number of songs (default 4).
• An ID or jingle every few songs (default 3), and an optional sweeper between songs.
• Crossfade length (default 4 seconds), using the fade-out point found when you uploaded each song.
• Match loudness evens out quiet and loud songs.

Schedule

Choose Whenever nobody is live, or set hours for each day. Solo show hours are in UTC; station hours use the station's time zone.

Handing over to a live DJ

• When a DJ presses Go Live, AutoDJ steps aside and the DJ's sound fades in over about 2 seconds. Listeners stay connected.
• On a station's own server, AutoDJ fades out over 3 seconds and disconnects before the DJ connects, so two sources never play at once.
• When the show ends, AutoDJ comes back within about 10 seconds with a fresh song.

Now playing and the play log

Your listener page, station page and embed player show Now playing: Artist — Title while AutoDJ is on. The AutoDJ page shows the next 5 tracks (with a Skip button), the last 100 plays and a CSV download for royalty reports.
